Saturday April 16, 2011 was an overwhelming success! Despite the weather! Of the 420 barrels that arrived only 26 did not find a new home on the pick up day, but I’ve since made some phone calls, and people are still wanting their barrels. I’m confident that they will all find new homes! Thank you for having such a well planned handbook, following the suggestions assisted in the sale being a wonderful fund-raising event.
The most memorable pick up was a couple from Sarnia (20 minutes away) who came in their Volkswagen Beetle. They succeeded in loading their two barrels that they ordered, and happily purchased another one! That meant that the husband needed to drive home to deliver the barrels and then return to Petrolia to pick up his wife, who happily went shopping at the local jewelery store. (I think it was worth the drive to Petrolia, at least for the wife!)
