David Stapley :
When COVID-19 stopped our traditional fundraising events, the Shannonville Agricultural Society partnered with RainBarrel.ca. I must say, I have been extremely happy with you folks and your processes. Response times have been awesome. I am a big fan of the downspout diverter and promote them every chance I get. We are looking forward to another sale.
Jessica Correa :
We loved working with RainBarrel.ca this year. Not only was it a unique way to do a fundraiser, but it was an even better way to get more Rain Barrels into people’s hands to help them save water during the summer months. We were happy with how easy it was to make sales and we ran a wonderful campaign.
Leah and Larry made it easy for us to promote our sale and we were able to use our social media channels with Random Acts of Green to make it a big success! RainBarrel.ca really cares about ensuring you are successful. They are responsive and courteous – and it really is a win-win for everyone- and it helps protect and preserve our water resources for a better planet! Thanks for all the work you do and we look forward to our next rain barrel sale next year.
Bruce Allen Morrow :
We have found that rain barrels almost sell themselves. They have been a valuable source of income for our organization.
Heather Hatfield :
The folks at Rainbarrel.ca were great to work with. They responded promptly to any questions I had and helped with all aspects of our sale.
Teresa McNutt :
An easy fundraiser that does not require a bunch of volunteers to physically be on site to help. Great to work with!Ganaraska Grca Leah, Larry, and all RainBarrel.ca staff are great to work with, and the re-purposed barrels sell themselves! Looking forward to making this an annual fundraiser for our non-profit organization.
Corinne Elise :
Easy fundraiser, little work, great profit and customer service!
Barb Hicks :
REAL and the REAL Deal Store have purchased rain barrels from the RainBarrel.ca for resale for a number of years, but this is the first year we have tried a concentrated one day sale. We sold way more this way, and it was really helpful to have all the social media posts ready to modify for our use. Everything is laid out in the manual, so even if you are not accustomed to running and promoting a sale, you and your volunteers should you be able to have smoothly running, successful sale. The online ordering really cuts down on your work and possibility for errors. Most of all, their staff are really responsive to questions, which reduces frustration big time!
Marina Anna :
Great and friendly to work with and lots of supports and ideas to reach your fundraising goal.
Pierre Labelle This is a great organization offering a terrific opportunity for fundraising while contribution to a worthwhile cause. Not to be missed.
Jessie Labonte :

Chris van der Vliet :
Great fundraiser. Awesome support. Wonderful response from the community and beyond for our school!
Quentin Day :
This was our first experience holding a rain barrel fund raiser sale event. RainBarrel.ca made it so easy for us to hold a well-organized and profitable event. The funds we were able to raise will be a big boost to our community garden project growing vegetables for local food kitchens. Working with Larry and Leah and others at RainBarrel.ca was a great experience. I have no problem recommending this organization to other non-profits looking for fund raiser ideas.
Susan Dineen :
Very professional organization. Everything went smoothly and they are totally responsive around every aspect of an event. I highly recommend RainBarrel.ca to any organization interested in the environment and/or fundraising.– Cabbagetown South Residents' Association
Jill - Montgomery Village Public School :
A wonderful organization and terrific people to work with (thank you Leah and Larry). Our Earth Savers Club is proud to work with such a great company. We plan to continue our annual sale. It's fun and we like to promote the importance of water conservation too.
K.E. - Discovery Community Church :
We have done a rain barrel fundraiser for 3 years in a row. It is AWESOME and the entire RainBarrel.ca team is amazingly supportive and informative.
It is also great to be able to network with other fundraising groups. I got to meet with the group Gifted People that supports children with autism. Our group supports the Etobicoke Children's Centre (for children with special needs), so it was great to connect with people in the community and city-wide.
The other fundraising teams really work together to support each other's objectives. All this said, people LOVE the rain barrels themselves while helping charities, the environment, and saving on their water bill.
Cannot wait for year 4! Many thanks to all the Rain Barrel team!
Judy McKellar :
Everything was set up with a filter, tap and diverter. All I had to do was put the rain barrel in place. Good, sturdy product. I highly recommend!
Annie Gurvis :
Excellent, committed staff care really deeply about providing services to customers. Love the dual gardening-environmental focus!
Terry Carrey McMahon :
I have 3 rain barrels and love them. I will not use our city water for outside watering and count on my barrels to get me through the gardening season. Looking to order one for my daughter to use in Ottawa!
Aaron London :
Thanks to you and your team-making this SO SIMPLE! Great customer service from inquiry to closing the loop!
Susan :
I wanted to let you know that the unloading went smoothly and everything that was supposed to be there - 'was'. I had a lot of volunteers show-up so it went very quickly. We then put all the kits together and taped names onto the completed barrels to make pick-up go quickly tomorrow....a number of people said 'thank you for doing this' ...they thought it was a great idea.
Jason :
Thanks to you and Larry for the support and in helping make our sale a success. I think the rain barrels tied in nicely with the greening efforts we were fundraising for.
Teresa :
This is the first time I have ever organized a fundraising event. I could not believe how easy it was and how much support was given to me by the team at RainBarrel.ca. Now that I have a better understanding how it works, I will certainly be doing this on an annual basis going forward! The response from the public is also amazing! So nice to see such a large market of people who not only want to help the environment but also support local charities across the region! I thank you and our charity, Sears Canada’s Great Run, Relay to end Kids Cancer, also thanks you!
Karen Bringleson :
Thank you to everyone at RainBarrel.ca for making our second annual Sudbury and Nickel Belt Green Party rain barrel fundraiser an amazing success. We sold about 24 barrels last year and 108 this year! We’re already getting orders for next year and we are planning for a bigger and better sale in 2016.
You make this so easy – we don’t have to pay up front, you provide a website, advertising and tons of help on social media, and you don’t even charge us for shipping. The barrels are sturdy and inexpensive. Everyone at RainBarrel.ca is so helpful and friendly.Best and easiest fundraising experience ever!
forourgrandkids :
Our County Sustainability Group is grateful for the opportunity to have partnered these past 3 years with the wonderful folks at RainBarrel.ca We look forward to our 4th annual event next spring. With their assistance we have managed to maintain our Environmental Bursary Fund to support local high school students graduating into fields of study related to improving our world. I encourage other groups who want to ” Do Well by Doing Good ” to team up with this organization.
Nizam :
This is the easiest fund raiser I have ever been involved in…and by far the most environmentally friendly! I worked with a group of students and the hardest part was the advertising. Once people knew we were selling rain barrels, they just came to us. The staff was so helpful, from the people who set up the website for us, right down to the delivery staff. Definitely going for it again next year!
Julia :
My school did a rain barrel fundraiser to support a school trip… We couldn’t have asked for a better spring fundraiser!!! Everyone in the rain barrel team were incredibly helpful and wonderful to work with. This was such a win win win!!!! We helped the environment, our pocket books and a group of great kids. I would not hesitate to recommend this fundraiser to anyone else or host one again. Thank you so much!!!

I have done this twice with two different community groups, the team at Rain Barrels is awesome. I would do it again in a heart beat.
Gus :
As a rain barrel user I am very happy as it was a easy setup. I got with the diverter and set it up in less than half hour. Just a hours rain filled up my barrel now I know how much of water I had been wasting before…..
Sheila :
This was an easy fundraiser. The support that RainBarrel.ca gave us was phenomenal. They provide you with lots of ideas and tools to make the sale a success. They send offers of help regularly which ensures it is progressing well.Anyone who became aware of our fundraiser was very supportive and impressed. They thought it was a very unique idea. I believe that once someone has one rain barrel, they will need another or two!We were to hold our pick up on May 15 and unfortunately Wpg had a very cold spring and we had snow the week before. Needless to say not many people were interested in rain barrels. We pushed the pick up to June 15 and this ended up being better. We missed a number of sales because the city held their rain barrel sale a few weeks before. On the day of, we had many people who heard about our sale that day and were looking for rain barrels. We had not ordered extras because of the change of date but managed to have a few extras. Could have used about 5-10 extras as people were keen to buy or friends when they brought the rain barrels home. We were fortunate to use a community centre for pickup and stored the barrels in an arena, attachments were locked in a building for safe keeping.Thank you again for a successful fundraiser.
malcolm mckeil :
I would say that using the money raised by selling barrels here has a greater benifit to those around the world than spending a little in a place that does not have the political infrastructure to leverage that work. Selling rain barrels in canada is a political act, look at Ecuador where their water supply system was privatised and it was made illegal to collect rain water. It was only through the efforts of the locals that this system was overturned and this was a spark amoung others that led to the electing of the more people friendly government that they have today. In Canada there is so much work to do to chan ge the politics of the country, if we have access to the funds that are raised through the political act of selling rain barrels then we can attempt other political acts like working for a change in the political system so we can develop a system of political representaton that actually gives some power to the votes the people fought for so long ago. Use the money for actions here, your actions over there are not recognised here and therefore people here feel that there is no choice but to continue with the status quo. INDEVOURS :
INDEVOURS is grateful for the opportunity we had in partnering with RainBarrel.ca and in connecting with members of the K-W community through rain barrel sales this summer. Due to generous support, the funds raised are being used to help offset the costs of the International Development students’ 8-month field placements. The 27 students are presently working overseas in 7 different countries for a variety of local NGOs, seeking to learn and to make positive contributions in the development field.
Sonya Stemerdink :
“Working in partnership with RainBarrel.ca allowed our non-profit organization the opportunity to not only fundraise but to also increase awareness about the importance of water conservation. From beginning to end, the staff at RainBarrel.ca were extremely helpful and always professional, allowing our sale to be a huge success! We look forward to making this fundraiser an annual event in which we can engage our community in supporting our environment!”
Laurie Hunter :
The Rainbarrel.ca people thought of every step and wrote it down. The early guide that was sent out really helped us to be organized and methodical. It was fun as well because people who buy rain barrels are pretty nice people who care. Thanks Rainbarrel.ca and REEP/rain
Herb Bickford :
Hello RainBarrel.ca folks. We at cottam united church had a somewhat successful sale, unfortunatley not like what we hoped for. That is the somewhat bad news. Jim Sweetman :
The sale we held on April 6, 2013 was extremely successful. The funds we raised were used to purchase mulch, seeds and seedlings for our community garden project. Lindsey and Leah worked tirelessly on our behalf to help ensure our sale went smoothly. Our walk-up sales were much greater than expected but Larry went out of his way to provide us with extra barrels and accessories to ensure no customers had to be turned away. The pre-sale preparation and planning was critical to our sale’s success. Jim Sweetman, Dundas in Transition.
Brian Radnor :
Quite a different experience this year! Many mix ups; colour choices that were not available for our orders were somehow shipped to us on the day of our sale…..confusing to say the least! We were not told that the lids could not be removed on this years barrels…another little suprise when our order came in We have had previous sales with great results so this year was quite a bit off our expectations of Rain Barrel

Quinte Christian High School :
We had never done a fundraiser like this, so this was a new experience. We did this fundraiser in a quick 4 weeks, and sold 74 rain barrels. The little wire / plastic signs that were at the road in front of our school, worked really well. I really liked this fundraiser, because there was not a lot of work and planning ahead, Larry and Leah do an awesome job of coordinating a lot. thank you Larry and Leah
Lindley – Russell & District Horticultural Society :
Just wanted to tell you how well our rain barrel sale went. Other than the weather being a little cold first thing in the morning on April 28th , it ran smoothly. We ordered 15 extra barrels and we could have sold about 30 extras. I’m still getting emails to see if we have any left over. We had questions at the sale to ask if we would do it again next year.
Alain Laurencelle :

I enjoyed the whole experience, working with RainBarrel.ca. Their product is good, and the prices are reasonable. The customer service is first rate. We look forward to our next rain barrel sale/ and Food Bank Fund raiser.
Tanya Hein, Secretary, Stittsville Village Association :
The Stittsville Village Association took on the idea of a rain barrel sale to raise funds for community activities. The idea of trying to sell out a truckload of 300 rain barrels was daunting, to say the least, and we had a lot of questions along the way. Leah, Larry and the rest of the RainBarrel.ca team were always available to provide answers and reassurance — we ended up selling more than 400 rain barrels and raising more than $4000 to support our work in the community.
Hugh McDonald :
When we started we hoped to sell 50 rain barrels. The orders started coming in and it looked like 50 was in sight, then it went to 70, then 90…..could we make 100 ? We ended up ordering 170 and sold them all. Then we found another 17 unsold in a nearby town, went and got them and sold them as well. My phone kept ringing for several weeks after our sale ended…” Any rain barrels left ?”…. and I had to say ” No, Sorry. Maybe next year.
Thanls to all the folks at RainBarrel.ca for a really successful fundraiser that required just a little effort on our part. Hugh McDonald. Brighton Lions Club.
Gina Stewart :
I can’t thank the RainBarrel.ca Team enough for making my sale a success!
Lisa in Cypress Hill, Manitoba :
Singing the Praises! Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to sell the rainbarrels.
We live in a tiny rural community and we sold approximately 80 rainbarrels! The fact that they are food grade barrels was very appealing to many people who use them for their vegetable gardens and as pet/livestock watering systems, and even for harvesting their own rain water for household use! It was a very important year for us to have them due to the severe drought that we are experiencing. Every saved drop of water was very worthwhile. For environmentalists and people concerned about sustainability, they are a perfect choice. Plus, the price was right and the colours are beautiful! It is a great fundraiser with lots of selling support and ideas. I highly recommend it to others!Cypress River Resource Centre

Denise Swan :
It was great working with Larry, Lindsey, Leah and Leigh during our rain barrel fundraiser. They were dedicated to making our fundraiser a success and as such provided invaluable advice and words of encouragement. The RainBarrel.ca team are professional, supportive and have a great deal of knowledge in the area of promotion- which is vital to a successful fundraiser. I would definitely endorse this company and encourage others to raise funds through partnership with RainBarrel.ca
Ed Hanson :
We at Lakeshore Drive United Church, in Morrisburg, Ont. are quite happy to report that our first time working with RainBarrel.ca was a success. They are a great group to work with and always there to answer any questions you might have. Looking forward to working with Leah and Leigh and all at RainBarrel.ca next year.
Bonita Woodhouse :
Working with Leah and Leigh from RainBarrel.ca was great! This fundraiser was so easy to put together thanks to the team at RainBarrel.ca. There was constant communication, the barrels arrived with all parts on time and without any problems. We turned many people away because we did not order enough extras. The promotion material and helpful guidelines were great to get the word out there about the fundraiser. One thing I really appreciated with this opportunity is that no initial input costs were necessary to start the fundraiser for inventory as the rain barrels were shipped according to how many were ordered – great for our high school group/club. Overall a great experience and would recommend working with RainBarrel.ca to anyone. Thanks for all your patience Leah! Sincerely, Bonita
Don Ross :
Our County Sustainability Group and Pitch-In Prince Edward County enjoyed being involved with Leah, Larry and all the RainBarrel.ca folks who helped us achieve a very successful first time sale this past spring. We were able to increase the fundraising efforts for our CSG Student Environmental Bursary by 6 times the amt. we had done with our previous fundraiser each spring, which had been organizing a Green Homes Tour. We will definitely be doing this again next spring and hopefully for many years, as long as demand in our area warrants it. Would highly recommend others considering partnering with RainBarrel.ca to have no hesitations about doing so, as you will find their support to be excellent.
Cathy Mellon :
Hats off to Larry & Leah and their team! Aylmer United Church (Gatineau, QC) has partnered with RainBarrel.ca for 5 successful rain barrel sales over a 3 year span. Needless to say, we will be back at it in 2013! 🙂 See our Letter of Support above for further details.
Peter :
1st Kanata Scouts would like to thank Rainbarrel.ca for the ooportunity they gave us to raise funds for our trip to the Arctic. We held three rainbarrel sales and raised significant funds which were used to hepl fund this trip. We also partnered with SEVEC to give our youth a chance to live with the Inuit youth to develop good friendships that will last a life time.
Selling rainbarrels is totally in line with the Scouting goal of protecting the environment so it was a double pleasure to participate in this activity. We sold around 600 barrels total which displaces significant amounts of City water avoiding the addition of chemicals to the environment and saving a little money in the processs. RainBarrel.ca was great to work with…Thanks Larry and Leah!!!
Karen Ewing :
The experience of partnering with RainBarrel.ca was amazing. It is a trustworthy organization with integrity for its customers, their products and the environment. Our community fundraising team has done so many events and sales to raise funding for improvements in Martingrove Gardens Park. RainBarrel.ca was by far the easiest, enjoyable and profitable, with a truly supportive and knowledgeable group of people who cared for our cause, efforts and success.
Pick up day exceeded expectations and brought people to our Family Fun Day Event from quite a distance out of our area. Thanks so much to both Leah & Leigh and the guy who brought and set up the barrels!
Dana Schultz :
It was a cold day, but very successful. The team provided all that we could ask for, with direction and helpful hints. This was probably the easiest fundraiser I have ever participated in!
Looking forward to next year and an increase in awareness, which equals an increase in funds .
I love the earth day painted barrels!!
