Hello, are these made of food grade plastic?
Yes they are!
Hello, do these rain barrels have to be right under the pipe? I have one that is by my gate so no rainbarrel could go there .. ty
Hello there! The barrels have a screened opening at the top and could collect water anywhere however, a downspout or other aparatus helps them fill much faster. You can add a flexible downspout and more piping and run the water away from your gate. people set up a tarp between two trees, posts or roofs without downspouts to help funnel the water in. One good rainfall and it’s full! Check your local hardware store for parts – I’m sure they can help. Thanks for asking, Leah@RainBarrel.ca
What is the model of these barrels?
Hi Natalie, The descriptions of the barrels are beside the photos. Is this the information you were looking for? thanks Leah@RainBarrel.ca
No. The application form for the rebate from the City of Gatineau asks for what model of rain barrel was bought (http://www.ville.gatineau.qc.ca/docs/environnement/baril_recuperation_eau_pluie/depliant_formulaire.en-CA.pdf). I imagine that has to do with the brand name and perhaps a model number. Thank you.
Thanks – since selling 1500 barrels in Gatineau, we’ve never been asked this. We’ve suggested in other municipalities that you use the colour – such as “grey rain barrel”. Good luck!
With regards to the City of Gatineau rebate just add under Model Rainbarrel.ca and 220 litres size. No worries, the City of Gatineau has processed 1500 of our barrels with no issues. Also Aylmer United Church will stamp your receipt once you have picked up your barrel. The City has been dealing with our Rainbarrels sales over the past few years and they are familiar with the documentation we provided you.
