Earth Day Rain Barrel Art Auction

The 2011 online auction page gives you great ideas about decorating your rain barrel or demonstrating how your purchasers can do so when they buy a barrel from your non-profit organization.

The online auction is closed.  We thank all participants and will contact those who made the highest bids by our deadline.

RainBarrel.ca in partnership with Earth Day Hamilton, has invited local artists, schools and organizations to participate in our first Annual Earth Day Rain Barrel Art Auction. Rain barrels collect free rain water from roofs and provide a source of chlorine-free and fluoride-free water which is ideal for vegetables, flowers, lawns, shrubs and trees. They also provide measurable cost savings for homeowners by reducing water meter bills.

The purpose of the Earth Day Rain Barrel Art Auction is to increase awareness of water conservation issues and to encourage the use of rain barrels in our community. Funds raised through the art auction will support Earth Day Hamilton’s educational and tree planting programs. A Truckload Rain Barrel Sale also in support of Earth Day Hamilton is scheduled for Saturday April 16th, 2011. Details are available on our Truckload Sale page.

The art auction officially begins on Saturday, March 26th, 2011 and concludes on Saturday, April 30th, 2011 at noon. Artists can register to participate by selecting the Artists/Organizations/Schools link. Photos of artists’ finished rain barrels will appear on this page. The general public can place bids by clicking on the photos and following the instructions that appear on each page. RainBarrel.ca reserves the right to end an auction early if it in its sole discretion deems the auction has fulfilled its potential.
